Commercial: Segue

Description: This project was a concept for a large two-story restaurant located in the mountains. A place to "see and be seen," Segue integrated contemporary furnishings with warm colors and a progressive eating theory which requires guests to move about the space to consume each phase of a meal. To encourage social interaction among customers, very few physical divisions exist. The very open space was visually divided somewhat using architectural features such as curved stairways, copper mesh-wrapped lighted columns, and varied seating arrangements to maintain a sense of purpose and intimacy. The main entrance brings guests up a glass elevator enclosure to the second floor, where they would be directed to wait in living room style areas or at the upstairs bar. Appetizers would be consumed at cafe style tables, main meals would be served downstairs at either traditional tables or in sofa seating areas, and desserts and after-dinner drinks could be enjoyed on the inner balcony, outside patio or additional relaxed sofa seating groupings.
