Residential: Nichols Residence

Description: This 1940s residence in Sunset Cliffs needed a good facelift before the proud new homeowner could move in. The plumbing was completely gutted and updated, the carpeting removed and hardwood floors refinished to a natural glow, the electrical system was grounded and added on to, walls were patched and repaired as needed due to significant water damage, and all interior surfaces were repainted. A completely new master bathroom was designed including a custom tile shower installation, a new vanity cabinet with marble slab top, backsplash and undermount sink, new shower and sink fixtures, new toilet, new floor and base tile, custom clear glass frameless shower door, an integrated exhaust fan and overhead light, GFCI outlet, and fun new accessories. Custom shades were also installed to manage the harsh afternoon sunlight, the washer and dryer were moved from the kitchen into the garage, and a new, larger capacity water heater was installed and raised off the floor per today's building code.
